Hudson Loses a Thriller to New Richmond 6-5

The Raiders were back in action on Monday night at Citizen's Field in New Richmond. Cory Larson once again provided a great pitching performance throwing 4 complete innings, giving up 3 runs, only 1 of which was earned, 2 hits, striking out 6 and only walking one in a no-decision. Jon Stoffer once again proved to be a dependable and effective reliever as he pitched the 5th and 6th innings, striking out 3 and giving up his only runs on a well hit 3-run HR by New Richmond.

Offensively the Raiders were led by Andrew Entenza (1B) who finished 2-3 with 2 singles, a walk and 1 RBI. Gordon Johnson also added a timely 2-RBI single in the 5th inning and Brett Steinwagner drove in 2 more on a 2-out double and finished 1-4 with 2 RBI. Ben Christensen, Derek Krumrei, Luke Miller and Lawrence Pruitt also all added hits for the Raiders.

The Raiders headed into the top of the 7th inning down one run and put up a strong fight when Derek Krumrei doubled with two outs and Brett Steinwagner reached on an error to put runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs. The Raiders could not capitalize, but definitely played an excellent game which is a great sign for the summer.

The Raiders will be back in action on Tuesday night at home vs. Tri-City Red (Mounds View, MN) at 6PM at Grandview Park.
