Raiders Go 1-1-1 in Hudson Woodbat Tournament

The Raiders kicked off their 2010 season with the annual Hudson Woodbat Tournament. The Raiders placed 5th out of 6 teams with a tournament record of 1-1-1. The Raiders tied with Somerset (1-1) on Friday afternoon, lost to Prescott (0-9) and beat St. Paul Arcadia-Phalen on Saturday afternoon (10-1).

The Raiders were led offensively by Gordon Johnson who went 5-9 on the weekend with a double, 3 runs scored, an RBI and 3 stolen bases. Derek Krumrei also added 4 singles this weekend and went 4-9 with an RBI and a stolen base.

The Raiders received great pitching performances from all of their hurlers. Most notably, Cory Larson threw a 7 inning complete game vs. Somerset in which he gave up 1 run (unearned) and struck out 8 Somerset hitters in a no-decision. Jon Stoffer compiled 5 innings in two appearances (1 relief, 1 start) and gave up just 2 earned runs on 2 hits and earned the win on Saturday.

Next up for the Raiders is a road trip to New Richmond on Monday June 21st at 7:30PM.
