Hudson Drops a Close Contest at Prescott

Hudson traveled to Prescott for a Wednesday evening game. Despite the looming rain, the Raiders were able to get the game in on what turned out to be a decent evening in terms of weather. The Raiders battled throughout the game but fell just short, dropping the game by a final score of 5-4.

Cory Larson started on the mound for Hudson and pitched 3 1/3 innings, striking out 3and giving up just 1 unearned run on 2 hits before leaving the game with back pain. Jon Stoffer came in to throw 2 1/3 innings in relief, striking out 1 and giving up 3 runs. Kellen Pearson pitched the last out of the 6th inning and started the 7th inning until Prescott rallied to win the game in the bottom of the 7th. Pearson gave up 1 run in 1/3 inning of work.

Offensively the Raiders collected 4 runs from the power of 6 hits. Kory Koller finished 1-3 with a single, a stolen base, a sac fly and 1 RBI. Billy Sarno finished 1-1 with a clutch RBI single in the top of the 5th inning. Ben Christensen collected a stolen base, a single and 1 RBI and Austin Lenzen collected an RBI single in the 1st inning and finished 1-3 with a walk.

The Raiders will be back in action tomorrow (Thursday July 8th) as they travel to Chippewa Falls for a doubleheader beginning at 5:30PM.
