Hudson Splits Pair of Games in Firecracker Classic
Hudson headed to Apple Valley, Minnesota to participate in the Firecracker Classic Tournament. Hudson began the tournament with a 4-2 win over Westside and concluded the day with a well-fought 6-3 loss to Thunder Bay, Cananda. Game one saw Hudson's Kellen Pearson throw a 7-inning complete game in which he gave up just two runs and struck out 10 Westside hitters along the way. Pearson earned the victory and moved to 2-0 on the season. Offensively the Raiders were lead b Ben Christensen who was 2-3 with two doubles and two RBI. In game two, the Raiders jumped ahead 3-1 courtesy of a Kory Koller RBI single in the first inning and a Kellen Pearson two RBI double in the second inning. Despite great piching from Hudson starter Lawrence Pruitt, the Raiders were unable to muster up anymore runs and eventually fell to Thunder Bay by a final score of 6-3. The Raiders will play their last game of pool play in the tournament on Saturday evening. vs Apple Valley beginning at 8PM.
